Well, I do believe it is time to get this blog rolling again. So let start with a celebration. The 4th!!
My parents rented a cabin up a Lake Texoma so they could have fun with all the gran-girls. The Texoma Deer Manor is a nice little place to stay. Freshly remodeled. Quiet. Close to the lake. I would recommend it!
Most of the day was filled with silly fun. Supper was hot dogs and s’mores around the fire. Can’t get more American than that!
But as evening came, we got out the sparklers.
And when it got dark, we started “light writing”. Using a slow shutter speed, and forming the letters/numbers (or just dancing and twirling) with the sparklers, we were able to create these pictures:
Scott did a great job manning the camera! He even captured this shot. E and N were twirling long sparklers in a circle, when N’s sparkler flew off the stick. EEKK! Fortunately no damage was done and no fires were started. It was actually pretty funny!!
In some ways it was a simple celebration… no grand fireworks (though we could hear them), no grand BBQ buffet… but it was a celebration none the less, full of family and togetherness and simple sparkler fun!
