This spring we had a flowering bush just across our driveway. It smelled a little bit like honey-suckle. One day there all these butterfly’s fluttering around it. Well for 3 days, I tried to remember to bring my camera and take pictures. So on the day I bring the camera there are no butterflys. So sad. I waited a bit hoping that one might decide to come over and play. Finally one or two did…

Then something green caught my eye…

Can you find it in the picture? No wonder there were no butterflies. So I took his picture instead. He didn’t really like me. I think the light was bouncing off the lense and making him very nervous. Which is OK with me, I wanted him to be more nervous of me than I was of him. He kept trying to hide.

These pictures remind me of Eve and the Serpent. There is something about the flowers of the tree that makes the snake seem innocent or even pretty, like how I imagine the fruit must have looked to Eve. How enticing that tree must have looked.

But then it kinda hits you… it is a SNAKE…And yes it is just a garden snake…. BUT IT IS STILL A SNAKE!!!

I told him that I would let him live as long as he ate all the mosquitoes!!!

Great Cities Missions recently held a fund raising dinner at a Rangers Game. Some sweet friends invited us to join them and what great fun we had!!! Not to mention that we were supporting a great mission work. If you would like to know more about Great Cities Missions, which plants churches in North, Central and South Americas, click here.
Having fun at the game:

Of course part of the fun is the silly races that involve fans:

Trying to catch a T-shirt (one in our group actually did catch a T-shirt!!)

Intense moment of the Game…The Bases are loaded, Can someone hit a Homer?

Sadly, not tonight!! They struck out!!
But we had fun anyway…

And then we had fun watching the fireworks:

At our Patricia House, outside our kitchen window a pair of birds have built a nest. It has been interesting to watch them. First because they had such a hard time building the nest because it was incredibly windy. About the time they would get a good start the wind out rip out all their efforts. Scott and I thought surely they would give up and build somewhere else. But one rainy day they finally built their nest. Talk about PERSERVERANCE!!! So we enjoyed watching the mama bird sit on the eggs. And then we enjoyed watching both the Mama and Daddy feed the birds.

At both houses we have cardinals and have enjoyed watching them too.
