Family Blog Welcome!! Here you will find the Events and "Going-on's" of the SAENK Family along with funny stories and sweet pictures 2011-09-01T03:23:52Z http://saenk.com/blog2/feed/atom/ WordPress Administrator <![CDATA[Out on the porch (part 2)]]> http://saenk.com/blog2/?p=525 2011-09-01T03:23:43Z 2011-09-01T03:20:03Z The second porch is really a balcony. It is fun to go “people” watch from up there because they don’t notice you.

Here is a before: (this balcony is a little hard to take pictures of unless I stand on the roof or climb a tree.)

And here is the comfy green set we found.

These pillows are not my favorite, but they came with the set, so I am just going with it. They do look fall-ish. Maybe next spring I will replace them or recover them.

I think this will be an enjoyable spot to read, do homework, or watch the sun go down when the weather cools off a bit.

So feel free to stop by anytime and sit-a-spell on the porch with me!!

I am also hugely excited to get to decorate these porches. I couldn’t wait until we moved in. At the 4th of July, our balcony was crying out for patriotic bunting. I am looking forward to the fall and to Christmas. The ideas are just churning in my head.

But it is hard (literally, concret is hard to sit on) to enjoy a porch without a comfortable place to sit. A place that says ”Come and stay a while.”

So when Scott and I found a sale at Lowe’s, we decided to shop for the porches.

Here are the goodies we found for the front porch:

I am not quite done, (though probably done for now), but it is a wonderful beginning.

But before we started school, Daddy offered a spur of the moment lesson on balance and counterbalance using a lever. The girls thought it was great fun. And it really made them think. What a GREAT daddy!

This is a rare moment of sharing because usually they are being typicall sister and arguing over that little blue DS. YAY for moments like this though!
