I thought this is fitting for the times we live in.
“Arise, O Lord,
Do not let man prevail;
Let the nations be judged in Your sight,
Put them in fear, O Lord,
That the nations my know themselves to be but men.”
Psalm 9: 19-20

“The law of the Lord is perfect,
converting the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple;
The satutes of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes;
The fear of the Lord is clean,
enduring forever;
The judgements of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them Your servant is warned,
And in keeping them there is great reward.”
Psalms 19:7-11

As I have read through the Book of Judges, I have become even more convicted that without strong Godly leaders we will fall. We, as a family, will fall. We, the church, will fall. We, the USA, will fall. We need Godly women leaders, but even more so, we need Godly men Leaders. Everytime the Isrealites came to a time that they did not have a strong Godly leader they fell away from God. They would come back to God when God would raise up a Godly leader for them. I find us in this same place today. Families are struggling to stay together. Congregations are moving away from the path of truth. And our great nation is turning away from God. We desparately need Godly leaders. So Christian wives encourage your husbands. Pray for our leaders. And be diligent in how you raise your children, especially your sons!
God Bless you! – Amy

Well, I said I was going to start posting again, and then I got sidetracked again. So I am sorry, but here I am working to be back on track. I was going to go through my notes in order, but I have changed my mind and decided to skip around a bit.
So today I am going to share with you what I learned about clean and unclean food in the Old Testament. I learned that there were clean and unclean insects. Don’t believe me, look it up. (Because I don’t know that I would have believed you either without looking it up.) Lev. 11:20-23 I thought ALL insects were unclean!! but apparently not. So there you go… an interesting and possibly gross Bible fact.

I know you think that I have probably forgotten about this blog, but I haven’t. I kinda came to a point where I didn’t have anything to say. So I decided to take a break. In January, I got a Chronological Study Bible and I have been reading it almost daily since. I plan to start sharing with you various thoughts or things I learned as I have been reading. So stay tuned. More to come!

Here lately a quite a few things have caused me to sit back and count my blessings. Scott and I, the other day, were discussing how much traveling we have done this year…a trip to Tennesse this summer, His mission trip to Ghana, our trip to Australia, and our family trip to Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri. And to think that at the beginning of this year, Scott lost his job. But the Lord provided for both our needs but our wants as well! Our cup has run over!
Then when I hear friends talking about thier struggles…family illness, cancer or surgery or women saddened by a miscarriage. I am struck at how blessed we are to be healthy, aside from the common cold, which in the big scheme of things is not so bad. And then to think that if I was struggling (such as when Natalie was in the hospital earlier this year), I would be completely surrounded by friends, and family and church family that would be here to support us and love us. Yes, I am truely blessed!
And to top it all off. I serve a risen saviour, who died for me…who is creating the ultimate home for me…who cleanses me of my sins. Yes I am truely, truely blessed. How about you?!?

This season is so busy and stressful. I challenge you and myself to spend a little bit of time with God everyday. Spend time reading His Word. Spend time Praying. Spend time singing praise to Him. Choose one or do all three. I think just taking a little bit of time – even 5 minutes – will reduce our stress and keep our focused on Him instead of all the materialism that comes with this season. I hope that you have more peace because you spent time with Him.
Blessings to you and yours. – Amy

As Christians we often talk about being thankful. And at thanksgiving we often hear the world talk about being thankful. But I think God intended for us to do more than just say “Thank you for the food, Thank you for our clothes….etc.” I think he wanted us to learn the Art of Apprecaition.
I found on dictionary.com these three definitions of Appreciation is
1. gratitude; thankful recognition
2. the act of estimating the qualities of things and giving them their proper value
3. recognition of excellence
So this month let us practice the Art of Appreciation. Let us count our blessings with gratefulness and thankfulness. Let us evalute our priorities and possessions and give them their proper value. Let us recognize the excellence of the Lord God Almighty and his good works and gifts toward us. Let us praise Him with true appreciation.
” Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29
